Philharmonic Society of Arlington Virtual Student Art Gallery

"How Bear Lost His Tail"

Thank you to all of the Arlington Public School students who submitted their artwork to our virtual gallery!  This year, since we can’t do our Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra Family Concert in person, we will miss having families come up to orchestra members after the concert to see the instruments up close. But we still wanted young people to be able to participate with us, so this gallery is our alternative. Our featured new piece in this concert, “How Bear Lost Its Tail”, by Pasquale Tassone, was illustrated on screen by artist Abby Cali of Arlington. Arlington elementary school art students read the “Bear” story, and watched a video produced by Abby about creating art. They then participated in a virtual “visiting artist workshop” with her in February, when she and Dallin art teacher Stacie Greenland gave a lesson on how to draw animals in the outdoors. These wonderful student artistic creations of bears and foxes in the wild are the result of the “call for art” inspired by the virtual artist workshop, and they are a perfect match for our musical performance of “How Bear Lost Its Tail”.

The art work displayed below is in alphabetical order by the artist's first name.
